The Foundational Governing Document of Zogam
The Zogam Charter is the supreme guiding document of the Zomi people, ratified on September 18, 2021.
It enshrines the ideals of Truth, Justice, and Freedom and sets forth the political, legal, and governance framework for Zogam under the interim authority of the Zomi Political Coordination Council (ZPCC).
This Charter:
- Affirms the inalienable right of the Zomi people to self-determination
- Defines the territorial boundaries of Zogam
- Outlines the roles, duties, and powers of governing bodies
- Protects the land, resources, and cultural heritage of the Zomi nation
- Establishes procedures for interim governance until a permanent Zogam Constitution is adopted
