September 1, 2025 – Zogam / United States / Worldwide

Today, the people of the United States celebrate Labor Day, a moment to honor the dignity of work, the hands that build, and the spirit of resilience that sustains communities. As Zomi people, wherever we are—whether in Zogam, across Myanmar, India, or in the far corners of the diaspora—we join in this commemoration with our own meaning and strength.

Labor is not only about survival; it is about dignity, contribution, and legacy. From the farmers in the hills of Zogam, to the students striving abroad, to the parents working long hours to provide for their families, and to the Zomi national army for defending and safeguarding our land, every effort is a thread in the fabric of our national identity.

As the Scripture reminds us:

“Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men.”
(Colossians 3:23, AMP)

We especially recognize the Zomi servicemen and women who serve with courage and sacrifice in the United States Armed Forces, Police Departments, and other departments, and in other nations, carrying the Zomi spirit into the defense of freedom and justice worldwide. Their commitment embodies both loyalty to their adopted countries and fidelity to the enduring values of the Zogam Charter: truth, justice, and freedom.

Equally, we pay tribute to the Zogam Army (Zomi Revolutionary Army – Eastern Command) and all Zomi defenders, both online (social media) and on the ground, who work tirelessly for Zogam and beyond to protect our land, our people, and our future. Their labor is not only on the battlefield but also in building a society rooted in peace, security, and dignity. These defenders stand as living symbols of sacrifice, ensuring that Zogam remains secure for generations to come.

We also honor the hardworking Zomi individuals who have contributed greatly to the prosperity, growth, and development of the United States and every country where Zomi now reside. From factories to farms, from hospitals to classrooms, from small businesses to public service, the Zomi people have pursued their dreams with diligence and perseverance. Many continue to carve out their American dream and similar aspirations elsewhere—transforming sacrifice into opportunity, and hardship into hope. Their labor strengthens not only their families but also the societies and nations that have become their second homes.

No less important are the leaders, supporters, and friends of Zogam, both near and far, who contribute by every possible means—through finances, logistics, supplies, food, donations, and unyielding solidarity. From those who give materially to those who labor in prayer, advocacy, and encouragement, every contribution fuels the hope of the Zomi nation. The Zogam Charter reminds us that such collective work, in unity, ensures the preservation of our rights, resources, and future.

On this Labor Day, we affirm that the work of our hands and the sweat of our brows are sacred when devoted to freedom, justice, and the building of Zogam.

Let the Zomi Flag—red for sacrifice, yellow for victory, and green for prosperity—remind us that our labor is not in vain. Each color embodies the labor of generations past and the promise of generations to come.

The ZPCC honors all laborers, dreamers, soldiers, defenders, mothers, fathers, students, teachers, professionals, leaders, and contributors who embody the spirit of truth, justice, and freedom. Today, as the world reflects on the value of work, we call on our people to also reflect on the work of nation-building—forging unity, protecting our land, uplifting our language and culture, and shaping a future of dignity for every Zomi child.

On this Labor Day, we encourage the Zomi everywhere:

  • Work with hope, for Zogam’s tomorrow is bright.
  • Work with unity, for divided hands cannot build a nation.
  • Work with faith, for the Almighty blesses labor rooted in truth and justice.

May God bless the labor of the Zomi people. May our collective work hasten the day of freedom and federated Zogam.

Truth – Justice – Freedom
